A peaceful place overlooking the river

This home is built on a bluff overlooking both forks of the Union River in rural Kitsap County. The main highway was built years ago on the plateau above, connecting Bremerton to Belfair in nearly a straight line. This home is part of a small development of four homes built just off of the original winding road which follows the drainage basin, probably first used as a logging road. Located just 4 miles from town, the home feels like a secluded outpost with it’s back side opening on to a private lower lawn by the river.

The former home owner had remodeled an attached garage, creating a master bedroom & bathroom with a double door to access the backyard bluff overlook. The former owner had built these crazy dog pens everywhere & when the dogs weren’t outside in their pens, they were penned up inside doing extensive damage to the home’s interior. We repaired the damage and further built on the original idea of enjoying the peaceful location overlooking the river. A ground level deck was added off of the master bedroom & an adjacent main deck repaired with its derelict hot tub removed..

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it…..

This home was actually in good shape. Once we had cleaned out the garbage and the dog pens, we had a straight forward remodel where the original owner’s rework could be enhanced making the home a very desirable rental. The 4-mile country road commute back to town had renters lining up to live in this bucolic getaway. Not a high end rental property by any stretch but a great example of the real estate mantra: location, location, location……
